Are you planning or have planned for any GD related material on your tombstone or whatnot? No whining about the topic. After all this is a Grateful Dead site. And it's a Sunday. Wouldn't you like to die on a peaceful Sunday in the late afternoon? Many years from now. (I'll probably get mine during the morning rush hour in Chicago. In January. Soon ;-)

I have to share a stone and have not decided on what I want. Either

Paradise waits
on the crest of a wave
his angels in flame (yeah, his)

or one of several configurations of Crazy Fingers.

D.'s elaborate scheme's will be hers to tell. (Really a SYF among others?)

No tombstone...I've opted for cremation. Not even a stealie on the urn...want my ashes dumped into the Atlantic offshore at Ft. Fisher, NC.(where his widow, may wife and I dumped the ashes of my best childhood friend)

Kind of a morbid thought for a Sunday morning, S.

I have never given it much thought, other than the music that might be played at services - Brokedown Palace and To Lay Me Down. So with that it mind, it might be:

with my head in sparkling clover or
by the waterside I will lay my head

or another fine inscription might be: the music never stopped

....I'll go when he calls me, even in traffic :). I had similar thoughts of putting "Once in awhile you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right" on my tombstone but honestly, i may opt for cremation to save some of Mother Earth.

Here is my non Dead answer, though I think Phil should cover this, instead of doing his organ donor rap .

Or this one. A rousing campfire ditty, from an old tape (album? probably not) called "They Sure Don't Make Hippies Like They Used To" ...

Now my friend Johnny he was dead
From his toes up to his head
Started rotting when he died
So they filled him with formaldehyde
Stuck him in a basement crypt
Just like back in old Egypt
But if he was alive he would have flipped
Cause he wanted to be a part of nature's trip

Free the dead, Free the dead
Feed them to the maggots, bears and worms
Free the dead, Free the dead
Let them decompose on their own terms

Five days later they buried him in a box of wood and tin
Maggots trying to get in, man, it sure was frustratin'
When they finally made it through they tasted him & all said Eww!
How's he gonna decompose when he's all filled up with chemicals

So if you have a relative who for much longer will not live
Don't preserve them in a box when they could fill a famished fox
Or let a buzzard use it's beak to feed its family for a week
Wouldn't they rather be a meal for an old bobcat to paw & peel

Free the dead, Free the dead
Feed them to the maggots, bears and worms
Free the dead, Free the dead
Let them decompose on their own terms

I've decided on cremation and here's what I'm leaning toward doing with some of my ashes...

Might put a cover of a dead song in the album (not Ripple, though.)

Not Dead, but Starship:

At first I was irridescent,
Then I became transparent,
Finally,I was absent.
